CPB-H, Permanent Magnet Brake – Hollow Shaft Type

This is a holding brake that utilizes permanent magnets as torque providing. The thin structure and large inner diameter design allow the brake to be installed with hollow-shaft motor or joints of small robots. It also provides flexible winding space for mechanical structure by allowing wires to pass through the center of the brake. Its advantages of no backlash and no drag torque make it suitable for use in medical machines, robot joints, semi-conductor equipments or other devices.


Checkpoints

  • To prevent loosening, screws with adhesives for fixing is required.
  • Shaft tolerance - Please refer to h7 (JIS B 0401) for design.
  • Too large or too small air gap affects function of the brake, so please refer to specifications to assemble. Please notice that shaft and hub must be fixed to prevent any axial movements. 
  • When wiring, please connect positive (+) and negative (-) polarities of the brake correctly to the polarity of power supply.   
  • Please use pure direct current power (DC) for power supply. The voltage range should not exceed 24V±10%.
  • Please refer to the chart below for the precision required of brake installation and example of installation
  • Oil or water is not allowed to attach to the friction surface. 
  • CPB-H is a holding brake. Except for occasionally emergency stop, it cannot be used as braking brake.
